The successful person sets GOALS
To achieve happiness, we should make certain that we are never without an important goal. ..... Earl Nightingale

The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going! ... R.W.Emerson

By now you are probably beginning to see a pattern developing in the strategies for success. The whole concept of achieving success begins with you, how you think. It begins with a positive mental attitude. Closely related to that concept is a determination to overcome failure. Those attitudes, in turn, lead to the ability to see nearly limitless possibilities and opportunities in everything around you. In time, you are able to develop not only the vision which empowers you in your day to day activities, but you are eventually able to develop more specific, all-encompassing vision for your life.
Right thinking creates a solid foundation for  success. But it is only the first part of the strategies for success. Once you have formed that foundation, you are ready to begin building on it. In order to achieve success, you will need to develop goals.

Success strategy activities

  • Read through the information that you wrote while determining your vision for your life. Based on that vision, write a statment of Purpose for yourself. It should be general enough to include all that you wish to do, but it must be written concisely. It is some thing you should memorize. As you write, be sure to include the following.
    1. What will be the focus of your life's activities.
    2. Why you desire to do that which you wish to do.
    3. How you intend to accomplish it.
Here are some examples of purpose statements:
  1. I intend to serve others by practicing medicine with the purpose of improving the lives of many less fortunate people.
  2. By loving, teaching, and disciplining others, I desire to help people find their purpose, develop their commitment, and reach their potential.
  3. I desire to become financially successful in business by giving my clients the best product/services possible so that I may use my monetary resources to care for my family and other people.
Once you have written a statement of purpose, review it daily for several weeks to verify that it accurately represents your life purpose.
  • Set aside several hours to develop goals for yourself.
  • Set aside an hour or more for each of your life-long goals.
  • Once you have worked on each of your life-long goals, you will be able to recognize what you must do in order to become successful.
  • Evaluate your goals, by determining how accurate they are. Determine which goals will require you to work with others in order to achieve them. Write down the goals that will require others help, and begin developing a prospective list of people who have similar goals and dreams.
