After 22 years in darkness, this Reddit user’s grandfather experienced miracle. He began to gain his sight back. The man became blind over two decades ago due to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Thanks to a surgery that put tiny telescopes being implanted into his eyes, he began to see again.

When he caught a glimpse of his wife Glenda for the first time in 22 years, this is what he did:

AMD is fairly common and is the leading cause of blindness in the UK. It affects around 500,000 people. Even though it’s common, it’s miraculous that this man was able to regain his sight after so many years of being blind.
