This Guy’s Bearded Dragon Is Absolutely Awesome.

20 year-old Taiwanese artist Zhongkai Xiang has a special passion. He spends hours manipulating seemingly mundane mediums (like straws, paper or cardboard) to create some pretty spectacular sculptures. The way he works is absolutely mesmerizing.

: Oh, wait a second, it looks like this little bearded dragon wanted to get some attention from Zhongkai Xiang…

: Well, hmm, wait a second, he looks a little off.

: That’s because he’s made completely out of cardboard.

: Artist Zhongkai Xiang actually crafted him by hand by using cardboard…

: And lots of patience.

: The paper art is so lifelike because of all of the details put into the work.

: From the fringes on his head…

: To the spikes going down his side.

: Once the basic form was complete, the artist added deepened the color of some of the cardboard.

: Giving the dragon its lifelike pattern.

: The small sculpture had amazing detail.

: Even down to the toenails.

: He also was able to ridge its belly, giving even more of a realistic effect.

: Just glancing at the bearded dragon, it’s almost impossible to tell it’s fake.

: Let alone made only out of cardboard.

: His talent is unbelievable.

Zhongkai Xiang has also created a lifelike Ironman suit out of just cardboard, along with dragons, robots, aliens and more. What makes his art standout are the incredible details he is able to include, just by manipulating paper. It must take incredible patience to transform corrugated cardboard into something so realistic and beautiful.
